Postpartum depression happens for several reasons. From pregnancy and through childbirth, a woman goes through physical, bodily and hormonal changes.
HORMONAL changes, BRAIN changes, each person’s GENETIC factors, plus the STRESS of daily life can be a ‘bomb’ for the mother’s system
No one is to blame for developing postpartum depression, it’s a condition that’s multifactorial; you just need treatment, time and support to get better.
It’s estimated that one (1) in eight (8) women has postpartum depression but, sadly, many carry it in silence out of shame, lack of support and lack of information.
